The Los Angeles Dodgers bounced back from a disappointing loss by flexing their power in an 11-2 win over the Arizona Diamondbacks. They improved to 4-1 on their road trip and are again tied for the MLB lead with six wins.

After falling into an early deficit, the Dodgers began their comeback in the fourth inning. Edwin Rios’ two-run homer put the Dodgers ahead, and Matt Beaty added to it with a solo blast. L.A. then broke the game open in the fifth, sparked by Mookie Betts’ leadoff walk.

After Corey Seager’s single put runners at the corners, Justin Turner drove a two-run triple off the wall in right-center field. Yoan Lopez replaced Luke Weaver but couldn’t prevent the Diamondbacks from falling into a bigger deficit.

Joc Pederson greeted him with an RBI single, which was followed by AJ Pollock’s two-run homer that extended the Dodgers’ lead to 8-2. Chris Taylor, who entered as a defensive replacement for Seager, went to the opposite field for a three-run homer in the eighth inning.

The insurance provided more breathing room and ultimately was more than necessary. Julio Urias labored through a 28-pitch first inning but got his pitch count back under control by retiring the side in order in the second on just seven pitches.

He wound up making it through six innings, collecting five strikeouts and limiting the Diamondbacks to just two runs on five hits.

Urias was backed by a scoreless inning each from Brusdar Graterol, Dennis Santana and Jake McGee.

Clayton Kershaw on deck

The Dodger and Diamondbacks will play an afternoon affair on Sunday, which will mark the 2020 debut for Clayton Kershaw. He was placed on the injured list on Opening Day due to back stiffness, but quickly progressed through his recovery.

The Dodgers considered holding Kershaw until Monday, but by having him take the mound in the series finale at Chase Field, it provides the rest of the rotation with an extra day of rest.
