Dodgers News: Mookie Betts Signs Contract With Media Group Propagate

Everyone knows Mookie Betts is a star on the field, but the Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder is growing his profile off of it as well.

When he isn’t hitting home runs or robbing base hits, you can often find Betts shooting hoops or bowling, including a recent perfect game. Now, Betts is getting into the media game to expand his off-the-field presence and produce creative content.

One Media/Marketing Group (OMG) and Betts, its co-owner, agreed to a producing deal with Propagate to create multiple media projects, which includes both video and audio, according to The Hollywood Reporter:

The Boston Red Sox turned Dodgers All-Star has signed a producing deal with Ben Silverman and Howard T. Owens’ Propagate that will see the outfielder and pro bowler’s One Media/Marketing Group develop scripted and unscripted film, TV and podcast projects.

“I am excited about the opportunity to partner with Propagate to not only create fresh, uplifting and inspiring content, but to also give opportunities to other aspiring creatives,” Betts said in a statement Wednesday.

Propagate was founded in 2015 in L.A. to develop, produce and distribute “programming built upon great stories spanning all genres, including premium scripted series, long-form, unscripted and formats, to broadcast, cable, digital and emerging platforms worldwide.”

Chairman Ben Silverman previously served as a co-chairman of NBC and Universal Media Studios. He has also worked on multiple TV shows, most notably “The Office.” Founder Howard Owens was previously the president of National Geographic Channels.

Betts competed in 2022 PBA Players Championship

Betts recently competed in the West Region qualifier for the 2022 PBA Players Championship.

Prior to this year, Betts last participated in the PBA Tour for the 2020 Hall of Fame Classic. He bowled an average score of 198.6 per game in what marked his only professional event of the year.

Betts learned how to bowl at an early age from his mother and quickly took to the sport. He set multiple Tennessee high school records en route to being named the Tennessee Boys Bowler of the Year in 2010.
