The Los Angeles Dodgers completed their comeback with a thrilling walk-off win against the San Francisco Giants, but saw Justin Turner and Max Muncy removed early in the process after both were hit by a pitch from Alex Wood in the third inning.

Wood plunked Turner on the outside of his left knee, then followed that by drilling Muncy in the back of his right shoulder. Turner continued playing until being removed in the top of the sixth, and Muncy exited in the seventh.

The Dodgers announced Turner sustained a left knee contusion and Muncy was removed because of a right shoulder contusion.

“We’ll stay away from Justin (for Wednesday’s lineup),” Roberts said. “Max, it’ll kind of be a wait and see how he comes in.”

Roberts also added that Muncy could not raise his right arm. “That ball got him in the shoulder blade and he had a hard time lifting his arm up. He wanted to take that last at-bat (in the sixth innin),” Roberts said.

“After that I just felt we had to get him out of there. I think he was hampered by that, but he wanted to take that at-bat and stay in the game. Gave him that at-bat, but I think it played a part in the fly ball.”

Dodgers injuries mounting

Losing Turner and Muncy while staring at a 6-3 deficit added to the ongoing woes for the Dodgers. Mookie Betts was out of the lineup for a third consecutive game because of right hip irritation and Roberts said after the win he was not available.

Corey Seager may return — perhaps as soon as Wednesday — but the Dodgers otherwise are carrying 14 pitchers on their active roster to go along with a banged-up group of position players.

“We’re going to bring a couple guys to taxi; a couple position players,” Roberts said. “We’ll see how the guys come in, how they feel and if we have to make the move accordingly, we will.”
