All season long Chris Taylor has been a man the Los Angeles Dodgers can depend on. Sunday afternoon, he made sure that held true in a series win against the Colorado Rockies.

The All-Star utilityman came up big by blasting two solo home runs in the Dodgers’ rubber match against the Rockies. It was the fourth multi-home run game of Taylor’s career and his second this season, the first of which came last week against the San Francisco Giants.

Following that win against the Dodgers’ storied rival, Taylor called the comeback the team’s biggest victory of the year.

Taylor’s first home run on Sunday was shot into the left field pavilion to tie the game, which was his eighth career leadoff home run and second this season.

In the fifth inning, as the Dodgers trailed 2-1, Taylor again took matters into his own hands.

In the eighth inning, Will Smith followed Taylor’s lead and crushed a solo shot of his own to give the Dodgers a decided 3-2 lead.

Smith has come through for the Dodgers on numerous occasions this season, most notably in the aforementioned game against the Giants. His clutch homer against Colorado on Sunday was his 14th of the season.

Taylor packing punch for Dodgers

The Dodgers’ offense has struggled to consistently put runs on the board as of late, but Taylor’s bat has been a constant source of production throughout the season. This especially holds true recently.

Since going hitless against the Giants on July 19, he has recorded a hit in six straight games. In four of those six, Taylor has more than one hit.

Moreover, Taylor has logged a hit in all but two of the Dodgers’ 10 games since the All-Star break. Thus far into the second half of the season, he is batting and impressive .333 and has already launched four home runs.
