Dodgers Exhibition Game Preview: How To Watch, Lineups & Kiwoom Heroes Info

The Los Angeles Dodgers begin their slate of South Korea games with facing the Kiwoom Heroes of the Korean Baseball Organization (KBO).

First pitch is scheduled for 8:07 p.m. PT on Saturday, but where the Dodgers and Heroes are playing, it will be 12:07 p.m. on Sunday, March 17, when the game begins at Gocheok Sky Dome.

The Heroes are the hometown team of Seoul and are based in Gocheok-dong, a neighborhood located in the southwestern part of city. The Gocheok Sky Dome is the Heroes’ home stadium during the regular season.

The franchise was originally known as the Sammi SuperStars and won four KBO championships while known as the Hynudai Unicorns (1998, 2000, 2003 and 2004). After several other incarnations, the team has been known as the Kiwoom Heroes since 2018, when Kiwoom Securities acquired naming rights.

The Heroes went just 58-83 last year, finishing in last place in the KBO. Former Heroes superstar, Jung-Hoo Lee, signed a six-year, $113 million contract with the San Francisco Giants during the offseason.

As expected, Gavin Lux and Max Muncy both made the trip with the team to South Korea despite battling illness earlier in the week. Lux managed to play in the Dodgers’ final Cactus League game against the Seattle Mariners on Wednesday, but Muncy has not been in the lineup since March 9.

Meanwhile, the Dodgers are taking a cautious approach with their pitching staff while in South Korea. They are planning a bullpen game against the Heroes and Bobby Miller is going to start in the Dodgers’ second exhibition matchup.

Michael Grove, Ryan Brasier, Evan Phillips, Alex Vesia, Joe Kelly and Daniel Hudson are expected to pitch against the Heroes. Grove is making the start and will pitch two or three innings.

Tyler Glasnow and Yoshinobu Yamamoto likely won’t pitch more than five innings in their respective starts during the Seoul Series.
